India's Indigenous Lithium Battery Production Initiative
The Government of India has approved the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) battery storage, with an investment of Rs. 18,100 Crore for a capacity of 50 GWh over five years. This initiative aims to boost domestic battery production, reduce import dependency, and lower manufacturing costs.
