TRAI Releases Network Quality Assessment for Kottayam, Kerala

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has published findings from its Independent Drive Test (IDT) for the Kottayam, Kerala Licensed Service Area. Conducted from 10th February to 13th February 2026, this assessment evaluated network performance across urban, coastal, and railway routes. The comprehensive test spanned 503.9 kilometers, encompassing 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G technologies. Results indicated RJIL achieved the highest Call Setup Success Rate (CSSR) of 100%, while BSNL registered the highest Drop Call Rate (DCR) of 7.53%. The study also highlighted areas with poor signal strength, with substantial attention given to data download and upload speeds across various environments. The results have been shared with relevant Telecom Service Providers for improvement.
