Election Commission Delists 334 RUPPs to Clean Electoral System

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has delisted 334 Registered Unrecognized Political Parties (RUPPs) for failing to comply with registration guidelines, which require parties to contest elections continuously for six years. This decision follows verification inquiries conducted by Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) across states. The delisting is part of ECI's ongoing efforts to clean up the electoral system, leaving 2520 RUPPs still registered. Delisted parties will not be eligible for benefits under the Representation of the People Act and can appeal the decision within 30 days.
