Ministry of Women and Child Development Reinforces the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015

The Ministry of Women and Child Development is tasked with overseeing the implementation of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, focusing on the welfare of children in distress. States and Union Territories are required to establish Special Juvenile Police Units, to be headed by officers no less than the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police, and appoint child Welfare Police Officers.
